Name Generator Wheel

How to use:

  1. Enter names in the text box below (one name per line)
  2. Click "Spin the Wheel" to randomly select a name
  3. Use "Remove Winner" to exclude the last selected name from future spins
  4. Click "Reset" to clear all names and start over

How the Spin Is Decided

Each name gets an equal-size wedge on the wheel — five names means five 72° slices, twenty names means twenty 18° slices. The spin duration is randomized between roughly 3 and 5 seconds with a deceleration curve, and the final resting angle is what determines the winner: whichever slice lines up with the pointer at the top when the wheel stops. A tick sound plays each time a slice passes under the pointer, and a distinct rising tone plays once the wheel settles.

Pasting in five names — Alice, Bob, Carol, David, Emma — and spinning might land on 🎉 Winner: Carol. If "Automatically remove selected names" is checked, Carol drops out of the list 1.5 seconds later and the next spin draws from the remaining four.

Reading and Clearing Results

The result line above the wheel always shows the most recent pick. A running "Removed names" list appears once at least one name has been taken out, so you can see who's already won without scrolling back. "Reset" clears both the wheel and the name list entirely.

Where This Fits

Picking a raffle winner in front of a live audience, choosing who presents first in a meeting, or randomly assigning a task among a small group where a visual spin feels fairer than a plain random pick.
